The Living Dead and the Realm of Concepts
The living dead are amassing at the Gates of the Seven Kingdoms. (GOT reference)Don’t view Europe as merely seven kingdoms; it’s the living dead, cast aside. The Seven Kingdoms are the realm of human concepts that we must save. Because in the end of the story, no one wins, not even those who tell it. The concepts we must save begin with humanity, continue with reason, love, compassion, and moderation, and hundreds of concepts derived from these are lost in the ignorance of the 21st century. This is a new discovery. Compared to the vast technical capabilities of human society and our interconnected planetary civilization, our capacity for humanity falls short. Everything we technically owe to humanity involves caring for others. Over time, with technical proficiency, concern for others should also have increased, but we chose the opposite path. Getting in our own way, causing ourselves problems due to emptiness. Instead, we must realize the vocation of enlightenment, and this only happens by paying the price of enlightenment.
The Spread of Enlightenment and Europe’s Role
When we look at the spread of enlightenment among civilizations, we see that the most successful ones are those that enlightened the most, and in the highest quality way. Europe led the world in this sense, setting the example for the way of life we currently have. However, the descendants of the enlightened are now complaining about opportunities. The opportunity is to shed light beyond the borders of Christianity. The greatest chance is to help the unenlightened, and in this case, to enlighten yourself first.
Turkey’s Position in the EU and European Inconsistency
According to a U.S. Congressional report, the majority of European citizens do not want Turkey to be in the European Union. On both European and Turkish sides, there are many comments suggesting that Turkey is, in fact, a de facto member of the union. However, the union keeps the door closed to Turkey for political reasons. Although governments hesitate to give full support, the Turkish state desires membership.
Lessons from History: Europe’s Past Crises
Europe was in a similar crisis two thousand and one thousand years ago. They solved the problem by confronting the threats they faced. They understood that ignoring macro-demographic issues could lead to catastrophes. Those who approached the threat lived a thousand years longer, while others collapsed due to neglect.
Europe’s Future and the Necessity of Turning East
A thousand years later, before the problem destroys all life, Europe needs to turn east again to confront the issue. It has already destroyed much of where civilization originated. The European Union and Western countries should turn towards the East academically, if not literally. They should always examine the biggest case. For future demographic challenges, they should make Istanbul at least an educational or crisis capital.
Turkey: An Opportunity in the Middle Eastern Crisis
Make Turkey a capital focused on the problem, a springboard, or a stepping stone. The problem is a humanitarian crisis, meaning the biggest issue is the overlooked Middle East problem. The hypocrisy of the Western media is like the elephant in the newsroom—no one talks about it. The West’s support for Israel actually hinders their own path; by challenging truth, they support ignorance. In the West, the Palestinian cause is not even mentioned, let alone supported as the Ukrainian cause is. Many independent perspectives agree that there is an inconsistency in European politics.
Enlightenment and Building Bridges
The European Union’s unethical stance should be shameful; they should confess their crimes against themselves. The crime is ignoring their own solution. The solution is not to kill those people, but to enlighten them—not with Israeli bombs, of course, but with long-term social, economic, and infrastructure projects. Why bother destroying millions of people when it’s possible to make them part of yourselves? They are even willing; why force them to be enemies? You wouldn’t do this, but someone else with political and hidden agendas does. Defense lines or protective walls serve no purpose for Europe other than being dysfunctional. Lines of education and walls of social buildings will turn enemies into friends. At the very least, not making unnecessary enemies is a debt humanity owes itself. Instead of destroying bridges, let’s build them. Bombs cost too much; they cost our humanity, the only identity we can hold onto. We cannot maintain weapons in this way. It’s time to face the problem, to solve it by approaching it, instead of leaving it to NATO hawks. Turkey is a great opportunity between the Middle East and the West; let’s use it wisely and expand it, let’s expand our humanity beyond the horizon of our limited geography, towards human ideals.
